Feathery swaps

I was due home from Convention late last night but please forgive me if I don’t post Convention news today as I’ll be recovering!

So here are some more of my Convention swaps. For these I wanted to do something a little different and was keen to try out my new Fine Feathers stamp set.

I used reinkers to create a watercolour wash, which I painted onto watercolour paper using, wait for it... a paint brush. These all came out differently, especially as I was experimenting as I went alone. Some, such as this Old Olive sample, were very wet while, for others, I allowed the brush to run dry, as on the Rose Red sample.

They had to dry for quite a while, then I stamped onto them using Basic Black ink. On top of this, I used a paint brush to apply Frost White Shimmer Paint. It is actually more subtle than it looks in the photo – I think the light must have caught it.

I cut the First Edition DSP using the largest Apothecary Accents die. I suspect I’m going to be using this set a LOT. It was also quite economical for making lots of these as I could cut them in half to get two from each. As the paper is double-sided, I didn’t end up with upside-down words, as I’d feared!

You probably can’t see from the photo but behind the clear buttons is punched DSP (top sample) or Basic Black cardstock (bottom sample). This is threaded through with Linen Thread.

Yes, these were a little fiddly for swap cards but I did a bit at a time using the production line method and I’m sure that by now I will have received some fabulous samples in return!
